Sofía Aldana Cruz reports on labor, water politics, and border movements from Mexico City. Her investigations into labor organizing, water scarcity, and migration have appeared in Grist, BorderLands, and Dissent. She has received grants from the Pulitzer Center and the International Women's Media Foundation. Her monograph "Water and Rights" examined hydrological justice in Northern Mexico. She previously reported for Reforma and teaches documentary journalism at UNAM.
